A Website for stamford parents
The following list is a work in progress and, like so much stuff
on the web, under construction. We have been visitors to almost
every place on this list, some a lot more than once, and can highly
recommend them. unless noted otherwise :-)
Check out the city of Stamford's web page for more info.
A lot of the listed places do birthday parties. Depending on
scope and size you usually pay between $150 and $400 per
party.ice Skating:
Public skating, group and private ice skating lessons,
skate rentals, Hockey leagues and clinics. Summer camps,
ballet, hip-hop, Irish dance, birthday and corporate
parties, PowerPlay Sports Shop, Video arcade, and more.
More expensive than the city run Terry Connors Ice Rink
Municipal ice rink offering public skating, group
lessons, figure skating, hockey, rentals. It offers
affordable hockey and skating programs (usually cheaper
than Twin Rinks).
We have never been there so I can't comment on it :-)
Group/private lessons, rentals.
other attractions:
RC airplane flying through the
New
Canaan Radio Control Society, a chapter of
AMA meets there on Sunday mornings.
The park itself can be used by non-residents. But the
Lapham community center and public swimming pool can
only be used by residents of New Canaan or their guests.
Rest rooms, pet friendly, hiking trails, walking paths,
baseball/softball field, approx. 260 acres
You can also have an organized birthday party there. But
it is pretty noise and lot's of flashing lights!
I guess they moved to Elmsford. They have/had 3-4 big
race tracks where kids could race against each other. To
me it seemed a little repetitive (or can you say
boring), but the kids loved it.
They are your typical arcade game attractions. To me
they look very much the same, but my kids tell me they
prefer the Norwalk one. You win more tickets there and
the prices are better!!!
Pottery shop. You can buy unpainted pottery and paint it
there. They glaze it and you can pick it up later. The
space isn't that big, so it is great for smaller
birthday parties.
