new canaan radio controlled society
The NCRCS is a club for pilots of remote controlled aircraft: electric and combustion airplanes, gliders, and helicopters. The club is registered as a member of the AMA - Academy of Model Aeronautics.
Members meet on Sundays mornings at Waveny Park in New Canaan on the east side of the soccer fields. To avoids frequency interference conflicts with other locations this is the only location to fly in New Canaan.
Weather permitting, flying happens between about 9am and 11:30am. Only current AMA/ NCRCS members may fly. No exceptions!!! During this time the general public is asked to stay off the main field for safety reasons, but you can watch the action from the parking lot right behind the pilots. Safety is of paramount importance. Absolutely no flying over any people on any field…..
The club is very welcoming to new members, and kids or adults who are interested can get free flying lessons. Ask for the president of the club, Roger Kleinert, he can refer you to one of the flight instructors.
